This a non-estate blend from one of Germany's famous producers. The wine is a blend of Mosel Riesling grapes, giving the wine a wonderful consistent quality that is easily accessible for German Riesling fans.
The wine is grown around the slate slopes of Mosel, delivering a stark minerality on the nose. The wine has delicious flavors of citrus infused gold pear and white-peppered honey suckle. The acidity is well-balanced ensuring that the wine is not too sweet. A great wine with Pork Tenderloin dishes.
- Cf Lowenstein Rheingau Riesling Trocken 2005 Product #22607 (In Stock)

This wine displays some delicious pit fruit notes, despite being a Trocken. It carries a richness that is both well-balanced and exact. A wine that seems to be focus with fresh white peach and some very cool tropical fruits. Honey dew and and some tart pineapple cover the palanced and the finish seems to linger a bit of honey roasted almonds. A very interesting wine that is a perfect pair for Southern Asian dishes.
- Selbach Mosel Riesling Qba Dry 2007 Product #22608 (In Stock)
-
-
Alright, so the bottle isn't the classiest thing in the world, but the wine is pretty damn fun. It's a great selection from one of the top German importers, Terry Thiesen. The wine is very accessible for Riesling fans and newbies alike. It's very crisp with nice tinges of lemon zest, pineapple, kiwi, and white pepper. The finish is classic Mosel with that typical slatey, mineral finish. A great pairing for Asian dishes.
- Karl Erbes Urziger Wurzgarten Kabinett 2008 Product #23036 (In Stock)
-
-
Established in 1967, Karl Erbes now runs this steep, slatey vineyard with his son Stefan. The grapes are picked from the Urzinger Wurzgarden, which just means "Urzinger's Spicegarden." The vineyard is one of the steepest in the Mosel and is ideally located to pick up the reflecting heat of the river. The soil is a mixed component of red slate and sandstone produced from long extinct volcanoes.
The father/son passion venture translates to the bottle, which displays elegant notes of fleshy peach, lemon zest and candied apricot. Some exotic fruits play on the palate as well. The lingering spice component of the wine makes it ideal for spicier dishes.
- Muller-Catoir Riesling Kab Haardt Trocken 2007 Product #21479 (In Stock)
-
-
Muller-Catoir remains ones of the truly great producers in all of Germany and, certainly, the very top producer in the Pfaltz. Although their traditional, sweeter wines are outstanding, I've always been entranced by Muller-Catoir's of-dry and fully dry wines. The 2007 Haardt Kabinett Trocken Riesling is a fine introduction to the house style. The wine is all about limes, slate , peach blossoms, and fantastic energy and zip. Drunk at "regular" white wine temperature, it's racy and bracing and a great shellfish wine. Allowed to warm up a little bit it takes on some richness and extra depth that makes it a great accompaniment to grilled tuna or even lime-accented chicken or pork dishes. Really good stuff.
- Dr. Wagner Ockfener Bockstien Riesling Kabinett 2008 Product #23037 (In Stock)
-
-
Dr. Hienz Wagner has a a bit of affinity when it comes to picking grapes. His family has a very distinguished history of producing sparkling wines, which gives the good doctor the ability to do an extensive triage at harvest. The result is an elegant wine with pointed candied citrus notes, apricot and a mouth-watering finish. A great paring for spiced shellfish dishes.
An icy cool freshness offsets the vanilla and creamy texture in this laser-like Riesling. This builds nicely on the palate to a long finish. Needs time to unwind. Best from 2012 through 2020. 500 cases imported.

- Manfred Breit Piesporter Goldtropfchen Spat 2008 Product #23414 (In Stock)
-
-
This Spätlese from Mosel producer, Manfred Breit, is medium bodied and filled with floral and tropical fruit flavors, and, of course, that signature slate quality characteristic of good Mosel Rieslings. A refreshing crispness adds tremendous balance and will allow this wine to age gracefully over the next decade.
- Bastgen Riesling Auslese Kestener Paulinshofberg 2006 Product #21916 (In Stock)
-
-
A classic, ripe, Auslese, Riesling, the Bastgen Kestener Paulinshof Berg 2006 is stunning in its value and approachability. Even this young, the wine gives up plenty of mango, papaya, peach, and candied lime scents on the nose. In the mouth, it's rich and frankly sweet, but the bountiful lime juice acidity highlights fresh peach and tropical fruit flavors. The finish goes on for ever. Sure, this will be at its best in 10 years - but who can wait?
A clean, elegant style, with a strong slate edge to the peach and tangerine flavors. Open-knit and well-balanced, on a lighter frame. Drink now through 2020.Wine Spectator 90 points
