A fantastic Merlot from a famous producer we're not allowed to name. Cameron Hughes specializes in finding great wines made by top estates that - for whatever reason - the estate has decided to sell off in bulk rather than bottle. The wines get a one-time "Lot Number" and get offered to stores like us a fantastic prices. Then, we offer them to you until they're gone!
This rich, dark, Merlot was made by a former winemaker of the year in Napa who has more than 35 years experience at one of California's top estates. He made this wine for his family winery (a side project) and planned to sell it for $40. But, he's now decided to drop Merlot and just focus on Cabernet, Syrah and Chardonnay. Rich black currant fruit and chocolate aromas lead to a broad, soft, textured wine that pumps out big currant, black cherry, and chocolate flavors. This is just stupid delicious, and we'd have been happy to sell it for $39.99. Not much left, so grab it while you can.
